The first Surya opened in Hilversum in 2002 by Pamma Dhesi and his family. Born in Punjab, Pamma moved to The Netherlands during his teenage years. From a young age, Pamma has worked in the hospitality industry as a passionate enthusiast. He always envisioned creating a place combining the many colors, flavors, and warm spirit of India and Nepal with modern elements. From the beginning, Surya has had sofas and pillows to create a comfortable but luxurious atmosphere. With the success of the first restaurant, Surya expanded to Amsterdam, Utrecht, and opened its first franchise in Bodegraven.
